Lenexa City Center Neighborhood Design Standards & Guidelines

As set forth in the CC Zoning District regulations and related City Center Design Standards & Guidelines, development in this neighborhood will follow many of the principles of “New Urbanism.” Unlike many suburban developments, a broad mix of land uses is planned, integrated both horizontally and vertically in taller buildings with a high level of urban design and architectural quality. The neighborhood will be pedestrian orientated with vibrant public spaces and wide sidewalks on both sides of narrow streets. Buildings and their entrances will be oriented to the adjacent sidewalks and streets. Parking will be predominately located on-street, behind buildings or in parking structures. Neighborhood cohesiveness will be maintained with the use of common streetscape elements including unique street lights, furniture, brick pavers and street trees.
